Held in the Seasons: Advent 1

Happy New Year! Advent kicks off the church year-- four blue-colored weeks that shepherd us (heh) into Christmas.

In a society that tends to move quickly, efficiently, and productively, Advent makes space for us to slow down.

Maybe these weeks will prompt us to move a little slower, do mealtime a little longer, and notice what's truly important to us. Let every heart prepare room for the Advent (arrival) of Christ who is ever and always coming into the world!

• Is it attractive at all to think of relaxing your pace through Advent?
